Paul Hale

Cello

I started cello when I was 10, and loved it right away. From the beginning I had some great teachers. I went to UC Berkeley to study mechanical engineering, and cello with Margaret Rowell. I worked for Schlage where I designed some new locking mechanisms, and during the same time won a chair in Oakland Symphony, which was a pretty big job at the time. I was also doing a lot of chamber music on baroque cello. I’ve been playing in the regional orchestras ever since.
