Josepha Fath

Josepha Fath grew up in Mill Valley, California, and received her musical training at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, San Francisco State University, and the Manhattan School of Music in New York City.  Fath has participated in the Tanglewood, Blossom, Spoleto Festival of Two Worlds and Mendocino Music Festivals and performs with many regional orchestras, including the California Symphony, San Francisco Opera Center Orchestra, Lamplighters Musical Theater, Oakland Symphony, and Santa Cruz Symphony, as well as has performed on many film scores with the Skywalker Film Recording Orchestra.

Josepha teaches violin at both the San Francisco Community Music Center and the French American International School in San Francisco. Also an avid chamber music player, she is founder of the Fath Chamber Players, and has been performing chamber music concerts in Mill Valley since 1995. She lives in the beautiful city of Oakland, CA with her husband, California Symphony Trumpeter William Harvey, and their cat, Charlie. They both love cultivating their vegetable garden and taking camping trips.

Favorite musical memory

When I was a student at Tanglewood, and I played Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique under Leonard Bernstein.
