Returning with fresh ink on the page, composer Katherine Balch is ready to share a first look and listen into the making of Artifacts, her violin concerto commissioned by the California Symphony as part of the second year of her residency with us. Acclaimed lecturer and program annotator Scott Fogleson moderates a conversation on the world-premiere of Balch’s new work with California Symphony Music Director Donato Cabrera, Young American Composer-in-Residence Katherine Balch, and violinist Robyn Bollinger. The California Symphony will present the world premiere of Artifacts on Sunday, May 5 at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek.
