The Lesher Center for the Arts
Renowned among composers and conductors across the US, this intensely competitive residency provides an early-career composer with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to collaborate with Music Director, Donato Cabrera, and the California Symphony over three consecutive years to compose, workshop, rehearse, premiere, and record three major orchestra compositions, one each season. Donors at the $10,000+ giving level are invited to attend 2026-2029 Composer-in-Residence Paul Novak’s first workshop with the orchestra alongside composer John Adams, whose violin concerto will be featured on our upcoming BEETHOVEN’S SECOND concerts.
