COVID-19 Update

Updated: March 17, 2020

We want to thank all of you who have reached out and expressed your concern for the extraordinary impact the ongoing COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation is having on our orchestra. It has been truly heartening and affirming to receive your messages of care, support, and solidarity and, thanks to you, together we will get through this.

The health and safety of our patrons, musicians, staff, and our community remains our top priority, and we are committed to following the latest protocols and advice from Contra Costa Health Services and the CDC.

The Lesher Center for the Arts, our venue, has cancelled all performances through April 30. The ticket office remains operational Tuesday through Sunday, from noon to 6PM, though the front office itself will be closed to the public at least through April 7. If you had tickets for last weekend’s FATE AND FUTURE concerts and have not already been in contact with the ticket office, please email lcatickets@walnut-creek.org or call them at 925.943.7469 to instruct whether you wish to donate the value of your tickets to the California Symphony to support our mission and help alleviate the financial impact of the concert cancellations, exchange your ticket for another performance, or request a refund.

The California Symphony’s administrative offices will remain closed and staff will work remotely through April 7. Phone messages will be answered within one business day, or you can email info@californiasymphony.org for a faster response. We are a small team, and we thank you for your patience and understanding at this time. Please check the usual channels — website, email, and social media — for updates. Music Director Donato Cabrera is also posting regularly to his blog while performances are on hold.

Again, we so appreciate your kind messages of support and we are deeply grateful to every member of our California Symphony family as we navigate these challenging times. We believe in the role of music as a source of comfort to our community, and we look forward to sharing this with you again soon.

Please stay safe and healthy. We look forward to welcoming you back to a California Symphony concert as soon as we are able.
