Portrait of Nikki Roosevelt

I was raised in a musical family in Alabama. My father was a music critic and I grew up hearing a lot of classical music as he reviewed new recordings. We sang in a choir that he conducted, and when it came time to choose an instrument to play in the 6th grade band, I decided I liked all the things the French horn could do in an orchestra. I went away to North Carolina for arts school in 10th grade and started my professional career in 11th. I came to California for college, finishing my MA at CSU Hayward. I have been fortunate to play with most orchestras in the Bay Area including SF Symphony, Opera and Ballet over the years. I’ve played a variety of musicals for in SF ( including Les Miserables right now). I’m a member of the California, Marin and Modesto Symphonies and the Mendocino Music Festival, and enjoy hiking and travel.
