A Tango With Your Taste Buds

Concert pairings - Argentinian wines

A selection of Argentinian wines is available to pair with this concert.

And of course, because this is the California Symphony, we want you to enjoy yourself, so you can sip your wine or other drinks—wines, beer, sodas and hot beverages—all from the comfort of your seat in the theater.

¡Salud!

We have partnered with the Lesher Center to allow patrons to bring drinks inside the theater (woohoo!). No more waiting in line before the show or at intermission, only to have two minutes left to wolf down your cocktail and dash to your seats. Bring your drink with you and sip while you listen—it’s ok!

One more tip: the Lesher Center bar staff allow you to pre-order drinks for intermission. Before the concert begins, visit the lobby bars to place your order, and then when you come out for intermission you’ll see your drink ready, literally with your name on it.

Now about that Argentinian vino, here’s what to look out for on concert day…

Doña Paula Estate Malbec

Intense violet color. In the nose, aromas of black fruits, violets and spices. Mineral and graphite notes. Great balance and freshness in the mouth, with good concentration and medium structure. Soft tannins and persistent finish.

Doña Paula Estate Chardonnay

Golden yellow color. Citric and mineral aromas with notes of spices and tropical fruits. In the mouth, it is fresh, lively, with good acidity and balance.

Los Cardos Sauvignon Blanc

Pale yellow color. Very intense aromas of passion fruit, grapefruit, lime, and white peach. In the mouth, this is a fresh, balanced, highly vivacious and persistent wine.

Concertmaster Jennifer Cho performs Piazzolla’s tango-laced Four Seasons of Buenos Aires with the California Symphony in A TANGO WITH MOZART at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 8pm and Sunday, Jan. 20 at 4pm. Music Director Donato Cabrera leads a free, 30-minute pre-concert talk for ticketholders, starting an hour before each show.
