WHAT'S INTERESTING ABOUT THIS CONCERT

Pacific Boychoir Academy

  • Astor Piazzolla was an Argentine tango composer who fused jazz and classical music. Expect seductive Latin American rhythms and drama in the Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, with Concertmaster Jennifer Cho (pictured at right).
  • French composer Maurice Ravel, best known for Boléro, composed Le Tombeau de Couperin as a celebration and tribute to his friends.
  • The first of a final series of three symphonies delivered in quick succession towards the end of his life, it's unclear whether Mozart ever got to hear his Symphony No. 39 performed.
