About the California Symphony Alliance (CSA)
The CSA was founded in 1991 to help with community projects, raise funds and promote the California Symphony. When first started, CSA helped introduce the Music-in-the-Schools (MIS) program to the community and assisted staff with administrative tasks.
The CSA has grown and today its primary goal is to raise funds for the ever-growing MIS program to benefit as many children in Contra Costa County as possibe
Membership/ Involvement
CSA Members may become involved in the following Areas:
- Administrative Volunteers - help with clerical work, bulk mailing and phone coverage at the California Symphony Office in Walnut Creek.
- MIS Docent - Docents are trained to help at Symphony School events within Contra Costa County.
- Historian - Scrapbook Editor of Symphony and Alliance events
- Community Outreach Volunteers - Volunteers are needed at community and children's concerts.
- Fundraising/ Social Events - Participating in events and donating or soliciting for donations for special events. The Annual Heart's Desire Fashion Show and Luncheon is a wonderful event raising funds for the MIS program. Volunteers plan and staff this event each February.
