Bring an Ensemble to Your School or Community
As the full Music in the Schools program costs approximately $12,000 per school, many schools can not afford the full program and the California Symphony is limited on how many schools can be served per year. However, the California Symphony, in wishing to serve as many students and communities as possible, offer a variety of single concert ensembles that will both educate and entertain at a cost that is more affordable.

4-year Revolving Program
The 4-year Revolving Program would bring the Music In Schools String Quartet, Brass Quintet, Woodwind Quintet and Supercussion to your school over a 4 year period. Each year one of these ensembles would provide up to three presentations on a day of your choice to your entire student body so that your school will be introduced to all instrument families of the orchestra over four years.
Single Ensemble for Special Event or Educational Performance
The California Symphony offers a variety of ensembles that can serve as either background music, a formal performance or an educational performance (for school age or adult).
- Pianist (classical, pop/jazz)
- Single instrument (clarinet, flute, oboe, violin, viola or cello) accompanied by piano or harp
- String Trio (typically violin, viola & cello)
- String Quartet (two violins, viola & cello)
- Brass Trio
- Brass Quintet (2 trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba)
- Woodwind Quintet (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon & horn)
- SuPercussion ( 4 percussionists that bring everything but the kitchen sink!)
- Jazz duo (piano and bass)
- Jazz trio (piano, bass and drumset)
Ensembles for ages 4 through 7
- Introduction to Music - Five musicians that introduce harp, violin, cello, woodwinds, brass and percussion and the fun of making music
- Percussion Duo - Introduction to percussion instruments (xylophone, bass and snare drums and sound effects) and rhythms
- Winds & Brass Duo - Introduction to woodwind and brass instruments (flute, clarinet, trumpet, french horn, trombone)
- Violin and Harp Duo - Introduction to string instruments
