Young American Composer-In-Residence Program
2010-2013
The Young American Composer-In-Residence (YACR) program is designed to give outstanding, emerging, young American composers an opportunity to work with a professional orchestra and conductor for a three-year residency from August 1, 2010 through July 31, 2013.
The YACR program is distinctive from all other programs of its type. The composer is provided with a number of readings and recordings of his/her work during the composition process. The composer, conductor and orchestra become partners in the creation of the work, and share their experience as the composition develops.
A selection will be made on or before July 15, 2010.
* Under special circumstances, the committee reserves the right to consider an applicant over the age limit.
**The California Symphony is an equal opportunity employer.
